• Repetition: Most students need repetition to fully grasp concepts. We provide and encourage additional practice beyond homework to reinforce learning and mastery.

• Work Habits: Consistent hard work from start to finish is the surest path to success. NorthStar Tutoring Services emphasizes strong work ethics as a foundation for achievement from the very first lesson.

• Exploration: We foster personal exploration and growth, encouraging students to learn from mistakes and develop alternative methods that suit them best. Answers are never just "given"—students are taught the "how" and "why" behind each answer.

• Progress: Stagnation is never an option. We continuously push students to learn, improve, and strive for progress every day.

At NorthStar, our tutors undergo rigorous evaluation and training. Each tutor must meet the following minimum requirements:

• AP or Advanced Courses: Tutors must have at least 5 years of tutoring experience in the course, possess a current teaching certificate with a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience, or hold a PhD in the subject area.

• Non-AP Courses: Tutors must have at least 3 years of tutoring experience in the course or a current teaching certificate.

Each tutor is highly skilled in their field and doesn’t rely on your child's notes or textbooks during sessions. NorthStar’s tutors are both effective and efficient in their approach.

1-on-OneConnect is a unique and simple online platform that incorporates both visual and auditory elements essential for a one-on-one tutoring session. NorthStar seamlessly integrates an interactive online whiteboard with real-time audio, enabling both the student and tutor to see and hear each other instantly.
 
Set-up takes less than 3 minutes, and it’s just as effective as in-person tutoring. In fact, session notes can be saved directly on the whiteboard, allowing students to stay fully engaged in the lesson without distractions.
